Ummmmm….. Don’t you mean the most EPIC year ever? Well, it might be an epic year, but it will also be an “epoch” year as we study through God’s word. Read on to find out more…
Over the last several years we’ve used M’Cheyne daily reading plan, a couple chronological plans, and just last year we read through a Who’s Who of the Bible, a general overview of each book, and we spent the last 6 months of 2016 reading through the New Testament.
This year we have a yearlong Bible reading plan that will take us through chronologically, but in a different format. We will read through nine different “epochs” of the Bible. An “epoch” is a period of time that is characterized by certain features or events. This plan, along with an explanation of each of the epochs, will be accessible on our website and here in the newsletter each month. Here is the rough outline of our year using this reading plan.
Epoch One – January
• Before the Patriarchs, Creation to 2000 B.C.
Epoch Two – January
• The Patriarchs, Israel’s Ancestors, 2000 – 1500 B.C.
Epoch Three – January, February, March
• The Rise of a Unified People, 1500 – 1200 B.C.
Epoch Four – March, April, May
• From Tribes to a Nation, 1200 – 930 B.C.
Epoch Five – May, June, July, August
• The Fall of Two Nations, 930 – 586 B.C.
Epoch Six – August, September, October
• Exile and Return, 586 – 332 B.C.
Epoch Seven – October
• Between the Two Testaments, 332 – 37 B.C
Epoch Eight – October, November
• The Coming of the Messiah, 37 B.C. – A.D. 30
Epoch Nine – November, December
• The Church Age, A.D. 30 – 100
We hope you will commit to reading through the Bible this year. Our prayer is that through the daily study of the Word of God you will hear his call to faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and a call to service in his kingdom.

*some readings will span multiple days, you decide how to divide it up.
