WELCOME TOM! Bethlehem welcomes Rev. Tom Pitman as our Transitional Pastor. Tom will serve with us for a year or so while our Session works to locate a full-time pastor for our congregation.
Transitional Pastor, Bethlehem Presbyterian Church
Rev. Tom Pitman will become the Transitional Pastor for BPC starting Sunday, July 5, 2020.
Tom is the Chairman of the Ministerial Committee. He is a native of California and began
serving as a pastor with the EPC in 1994, with the Presbytery of the West. He also served as a
pastor with the PC(USA) in Ohio and California. Tom joined the Presbytery of the Mid Atlantic
in 2011 and has since been serving as a pastor and transitional pastor in North and South
He has a shepherd’s heart with a passion for preaching and discipleship, and he specializes
in guiding pastors and church Elders through transitions and equipping believers
to utilize their spiritual gifts.
Tom is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary (MDiv) and a perpetual student in the
school of wolf and sheep bites. He met his wife, Dianna, at Fuller; they married in 1989, and
have 2 grown children. When pondering various experiences in ministry, Tom has found
increasing value for James 4:6 “and He gives grace generously”. As the Scripture says, “God
opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
Please give Tom a warm Bethlehem welcome when you meet him.
